Persitance Is Key

August 31, 2010

I’ve posted this in my “DNM” (Deep And Meaningful) category which can otherwise be known as Mindset. This isn’t directly related to Internet Marketing but it is 100% related to life in general.

I know it can be weird reading or listening to a 19 year old talk about mindset and all that because it come from life experience. When ever I start writing or talking about it I always see people roll their eyes thinking, “he’s 19, he’s had no life experience”.. BUT I beg to differ.. I’m an average’ish 19 year old but am also extremely unique in many ways.

I first left home and learnt what the real world was when I was 17. I got a job with an Australia events company and toured the country helping out at wealth creation events. I learnt alot from the different speakers at the event that to be successful you need to have the right attitude/mindset and you need to be damn persistent.

After working with the events company for awhile I start Internet Marketing which for me was a completely foreign concept, it was nothing like what I had learnt at home or school. To say I was successful right from the get-go would be a lie, I “spent” a large amount of money on Google Adwords to only learn the URL I was sending the traffic to wasn’t my affiliate link so if I was making sales there was no way I could track it. At that point of failure I had two options:

  1. Learn from the mistake that I had made and try again
  2. Quit, stop trying and go back to school

Being completely stubborn and pig headed I didn’t want 1 little (or large) mistake to stop me for reaching my Goals in life. I was Persistent. I didn’t want to let failure hold me up from becoming successful. If I had of stopped trying, the next day I wouldn’t have made my first online sale and I damn sure wouldn’t be in the position I am in today.

My life experiences put me in the position to be able to speak about mindset/persistence because I’ve been there, I’ve done that. Just because I’m 19 doesn’t mean I haven’t had the same experience as a 27 year old who has done nothing with their life. The only thing in life that will keep you going is continuing to be persistent, continuing to move towards your goals. The moment you stop, that is the moment you become unsuccessful, as long as your moving you’ll get to success.

Failure is NOT an Option

Peace,
Matt
